Swedish exotic-car maker Koenigsegg Group has canceled plans to buy Saab from General Motors. GM announced that the deal was off on Tuesday and gave no reason why the deal fell apart, nor did the automaker say what would happen to Saab. Toyota has quashed all the rumours about how much its new GT 86 rear-wheel drive sports car will cost: the price has been confirmed at £24,995 in the UK. Some speculation had suggested the price might soar nearer £30k on account of the unfavourable yen exchange rate. But Toyota GB today confirmed the GT 86 will start at £24,995.
Vauxhall Mokka - a likely recipient of the new Vauxhall engine range
Vauxhall – and we assume Opel – are planning three new engine ranges to launch in the next twelve months. Vauxhall has revealed that they are planning a wholesale revamp of their engine range with the launch of three new engine ranges in the next year, starting with a new 1.6 litre turbo petrol. The new turbo petrol engine will get direct injection and start-stop technology that Vauxhall say will cut fuel consumption by 13 per cent.
